Sweet Pumpkin Bread

This Pumpkind Bread is an all time favorite for almost a decade here in Bali Buda. It is a recipe handed down from our grandmother, it is a recipe we hold close to our heart and hope you can enjoy it as much as we do!


This Recipe Serves 8

220 gr Sugar

110 gr Butter

3 Eggs

20 gr Yogurt

110 gr Raisin

300 gr Grated Pumpkin

450 gr Flour (with your choice of wheat, banana or coconut flour)

5 gr Baking Powder

10 gr Baking Soda

5 gr Salt


  • Preheat your oven to 175C° & prepare 2 bread trays and coat with butter and a thin layer of flour.
  • Prepare your fresh pumpkin, if you got it whole, take the seeds out, cut the skin off and grate your pumpkin.
  • In a small bowl, prepare your dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt).
  • In a larger bowl, mix your sugar & butter with a mixer on the highest level, mix for 5 minutes until fluffy. Then add your eggs and yogurt, continue with the mixer for another minute or two.
  • Once the wet mixture is well mixed, add in your raisins and grated pumpin and use the mixer once more until all ingredients are incorperated.
  • Now add your dry mix, put it in your wet mix bit by bit and fold it with a spatula. Once all ingredients are, make sure there are no flour lumps.
  • Divide the batter into the bread trays evenly and level the top evenly.
  • Put it in the oven for 60 minutes or until done (can test by inserting with a toothpick and it comes out clean).
  • Enjoy with homemade jams or simply warm with butter!
  • Serves

    Cut nicely and serve on a plate.
