Pulung Pulung Ubi

Traditional sweet dessert with palm sugar inside. “Pulung pulung” means creating a ball and “ubi” means white cassava.

Ingredients

This Recipe Serves 4

400 gr White cassava

60 gr Palm sugar

1 tsp Salt

500 ml Cooking oil

Direction

  • Cut, clean and grate the cassava.
  • Put one tea spoon of salt and mix into the cassava.
  • Cut palm sugar to small pieces.
  • Take approx. 30 gr of cassava and add one tea spoon of palm sugar in the middle of cassava and close it.
  • Do the same with the rest of cassava and palm sugar.
  • Deep fry the cassava balls until they are golden brown.
  • Serves

    Serve on a plate and eat when it's still warm.

    Chef's Tip

    You can change the filling of palm sugar for any other filling, for instance, strawberry jam or peanut butter.
