The idea of a dive resort was born in the mind of Marco Montaldo and Mara Rinaldi in the year 2000. But where? Thus it begun the search that lasted for more than 10 years of the perfect place. Finding information was long and difficult, fortunately very helped by the Internet . During work breaks and day off we went around the world on all continents to evaluate places and check news but we did not find our dream yet. Until by a friend’s recommendation we came to the island of Agusta in the Indonesian West Papua. It was love at first sight. Candid beach, transparent sea of all shades of blue, luxuriant forest, no settlement, lush coconut palms: a true paradise. And underwater? We had vaguely heard of the Raja Ampat but was not as famous as it is now. Having no diving equipment, we snorkeled around the island. Never seen so many fish all together, never so many corals, never so many colors! Several sharks white fin and black fin, thousands of colorful reef fish, dozens of sweet lips, red snappers, groupers, napoleons, a family of about twenty bumpheads and even a sea eagle that has followed us curiously for more than half the island. Just by snorkeling it is already amazing. We had found the dream. Thus began the adventure, and despite a thousand difficulties we managed to create our beautiful and romantic Agusta Eco Resort.

The resort has beautiful accommodation, an outdoor pool and views of the sea. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the restaurant – both indonesian and western. Some rooms feature a seating area for your convenience. All rooms have a private bathroom. There are shops at the property as well as spa. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including snorkeling and diving. The location is especially liked by couples. We also provide the transfer from the airport to the island, so we can take care of everything for you.
