Chicken Bumbu Curry

Traditional indonesian chicken curry sauce. It is also a main sauce for any kind of dish. Bumbu means spices in Indonesian.

Ingredients

This Recipe Serves 3

350 gr Chicken

100 gr Shallot

50 gr Garlic

5 cm Ginger

5 cm Galangal

5 cm Turmeric

5 pcs Candle nut

1 spoon Coriander seed

5 pcs Hot chili

Salt and Pepper

200 ml Cooking oil

1 pcs Lemon grass

100 ml Coconut milk

Direction

  • Cut all ingredients and roast them on a pan them with oil.
  • Blender the soft ingredients with approx. 100 ml of water.
  • Put into a pot and stir.
  • Add salt, pepper and lemon grass.
  • Cook approx. 15 minutes and taste if to add more of salt or pepper.
  • Add the raw chicken and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Add the coconut milk and stir 3 minutes and it's ready to serve!
  • Serves

    After cooking put the dish on the plate and add parsley with lemon grass and slice of red chilli.

    Chef's Tip

    The final dish of chicken curry must be thick. Do not add too much water, because of the raw meat already includes water.
